Here's some pictures of another gift from my father
14-3, love the jeweled hammer and trigger.
A very fond memory of range trips with Pops

No, my father had it done years ago, in fact I never remember it not being jeweled.
He had 4 or 5 all done like this, including a SA only Model 14, a K22 and 2 Colt officer model matches

It just shows the old man has good taste I guess!
Thanks for the compliment!

I agree, and thanks
This one has had the trigger done. Possibly when dad had the jewling work done
I thought my Combat Masterpiece was smooth but Lord this one is half as light as the CM, like a kids cap gun

Lamar thanks
I am blessed to have had him as a father
That man let me shoot his Remington Rand 45 when I was 12!

While jeweling is primarily a cosmetic touch, it was thought to have a practical application as well. The jewelled surface supposedly reduced friction, and held lubricant better than an equal smooth surface.

Don't know if that's true or not, but sounds plausible.

Thanks for that Bob, it seems plausible, and this has the smooooothest D/A pull ever, but kinda sounds like "undercoating" sales shinola.

I just love it, whatever it does or doesn't do
:0)
