Actually I have seen the mounts for an under the barrel type setup, not unlike an M-203. There are some restrictions, I can't quite remember what though...
You think so? I'm not really sure, I thought as long as the barrel is long enough it's okay. Anyways, AOW permits are fairly inexpensive and easy to get aren't they?
I looked at one at the military show and tell. It was an 870 severly chopped, and really threw off the balance of the M4. You would need a gun bearer to carry it.
i read the stuff on the website, and i still don't understand what it all means. is it saying that as long as you write a letter stating that it will be mounted under another weapon, you don't have to register it?
I had one of the 870 action mounts on an old A-1 , I got it out of the back of SWAT magazine in mid 80's. With a legal 18" barrel it looked funny with 10" of barrel past the AR flash hider. I had a vertical plastic fore grip on the 870 so it was usable BUT it was as heavy as my HK-91 scoped with bipod- 10.5 pounds!
