115gr v 124gr in Beretta 92FS

My friend just bought his first gun, a 92FS Compact, and asked me to walk through it with him. I had some 115gr Winchester around, so we used that. Now I had heard that the 92 was designed for 124gr, but I was able to get a 1-1/2" 10 shot group off hand at 25 feet (about 4" at 50 feet). I have a 92 on order myself and we're going to get some bulk ammo from ammoman. Could we expect anything better from the 124gr, or just stick with the 115gr? My 9mm 1911 loves the 115gr, so I'd rather keep just one type around.
 
I doubt there is a dime's worth of difference between them. If you want, try enough of both to see if your gun has a preference, otherwise just pick one and don't worry about it.
