1100 Slug barrel

I just bought a new 12 gauge 1100 Sporting a few months ago. I have been wanting a slug barrel for some time now. Hastings told me a Cantilever 1100 barrel for a 12 gauge won't be available until late summer. Not wanting to wait I looked at Remington's Barrel. From what I have heard, a lot of the slug barrels from Remington haven't been up to spec. One guy on midway had some interesting things to say about their 1100 slug barrels. Not good to say the least. Should I just wait for hastings? I can't find a new or mint one anywhere!

Another problem. I didn't know that newer 1100's use an 11/87 extractor. From what I hear is you either have to file open the barrel extractor slot or buy an 870 extractor and replace it. So I don't know how well this gun will work with a Hastings or even older slug barrels. If anybody on here can help me please do. I feel like the money is already starting to jump out of my wallet.

Not sure you should consider a smaller extractor [narrower] I used a old 1100 extractor in a 11-87 before I knew the 11-87 had a beefed up extractor; It did not last long and broke quickly, probably the side to side play did it in.

I have an older 1100 (1976 vintage) and bought a new Remington slug barrel about a year ago. Quality is excellent and no mechanical problems (FTF, FTE).
