1100 repair question

I brought home an older Remington 1100 from the in laws.

Inside the receiver there is a flat piece of metal, know as the feed latch. (part 43 in the owners manual)

This piece has come loose from the receiver. It appears to have been staked in place when new.

How do I get it to stay in place now?

Thanks!

I had one come loose about 5 years ago, and I Superglued it as a temporary thing. Now I don't remember which one it was. I'll never stake again. It is only staked to hold it in place when you take it apart. In use the trigger group and the pins keep it properly positioned.

Mine is loose and it's a pain to get the trigger group in by myself. Next time I have it apart I'll use superglue as mentioned above.

If you glue yours, make sure the pin hole is aligned before the glue sets.

Thanks all,

It seemed to stay in place with the pin in the hole. It hung up when shot and that seemed to be what the bolt hung open with.

It needs a major cleaning father-in-law used some cleaner that has now dried and hardened into varnish.

I'll let you know when done.

Thanks!
