Sorry this aint for your 1100, but for your 870 I strongly recommend Remington's "Super Slug" SP barrel. It is a 23" heavey contoured barrel with cantiliever scope mount. I've been using one now for 3 years and its shoots great especially with Lightfield sabots. I've used it effectively out to 130 yds while hunting with no problem. The barrel with the Lightfield sabots routinely shoots clover-hole groups at 50 yds all day long. I've personally never used a Hastings barrel, but I've never heard anything bad about them either. Either brand is a good choice, I believe they are the only large suppliers of 870 and 1100 barrels. I know Mossberg makes a few 870 barrels but I dont think there rifled or come with scope mounts. I dont think it will be a cheaper route but you can check with ER Shaw barrels. I believe at one time they made shotgun barrels, and you might find one for your 1100 or 870 there.
