1100 age issue

I have been trying to age my 1100. I bought it used in 95. It was rough, but functioned.

The info I see says to use the letter code on the barrel to determine the year of mfg. That's where my problem starts. I tore the thing down and built a slug gun out of it. I no longer have the old barrel or the original wood.

The receiver in numbered 3299**V.

The v means standard 2 3/4 receiver.

I've not found the right info on the net.

Is there any way to track down the date with only that info?

Thanks!

"How can I tell how old my Remington firearm is?

If you will call or email us the serial number and model number we can determine the approximate age of your firearm.

Serial numbers were not required until 1968. For models without a serial number, we may be able to determine the age by the 2-3 letters that are stamped on the barrel.

Great,

I just called and spoke to Angie. She said it was from 1968.

I wish I still had the original wood and barrel, but it is such an awesome slug gun, I'd probably never put it back the way it came.

Thanks for the help!
