I own a Remington 11-87 with a rifled barrel that also has rifled sights. I want to put a scope on it, but I have no love for the scope mounts that seem to be available....most mount via the trigger group pins. Is it possible for a good gunsmith to mount a long eye relief scope onto the barrel itself (like a scout rifle)?
