I just picked one of these up, but I've yet to get to the range. My question is, has anyone had or heard of issues with cycling using slugs? This is my first autoloading shotgun (I'm a rifle guy), so I've no idea what to expect. For the price of the unit, I would expect it to work fine. However, if I'm aware of limitation prior to experiencing problems, I tend to be much less disappointed.

The slugs I have on hand are Federal 2-3/4" 1-1/4 oz. foster-type.

Your 11-87 should work fine with slugs and buck shot. If you have a problem , it will probably be with underpowered "Game Loads".

Zero problem with mine, both standard and reduced recoil slugs. The recoil with slugs on the 11-87 is a bit more pleasant as well compared with an 870.

Mine even cycles most "low brass" skeet loads no problem.

I got a few stovepipes when my 11-87P was brand-new. The FTE's went away after ~100 rounds.
