As you know, I recently acquired a traditions 50 cal muzzle loading pistol and I am in the process of buying some accessories. I have a chance to buy some primers and powder. He has some #11 and #10 percussions caps.
I know I can use the #11 caps but what about #10's - GTG?

If they're cheap, buy them all. Soon you'll want a BP revolver, and the 10s will come in pretty handy then.

I bow to the honorable Mr. Noelf….

Who has come up with the most correct answer.

A couple of weeks ago I attended The Great Marlboro Gun & Knife Show in Marlborough, MA. I asked the vendor at a black powder table if he had #10 Remington Percussion Caps. He reached under the table and brought up eight tins from years gone by. He wanted $6 each. I asked him for a deal on all eight tins. He took $45 and I got 800 beautiful foil lined #10s. Be sure to ask if you don't see what you want. The original price tag was scratched out with a pen but could still be read. It says "Bob Gray $1.49".

What a haul for a price!
Made out like a bandito! :p

I'd put a bit extra in the plate next time. ;)

In all seriousness, a feller needs some of all the kinds of caps available.
Many of all kinds is better.

Try to find #12's or #9's these days.
