10mm EAA Witness

What about the 10mm? I don't here to much discussion over it? Does anyone have any experience with the EAA Witness in 10mm?(Recoil,reliability, ??)

Well, I had some reliability problems with my EAA Witness 10mm at first, but the problem was quickly diagnosed by my friends at glocktalk.com to be an older (read; "defective") magazine follower. One e-mail to EAA had a new follower sent to my house in a couple of days, and no hiccups since. That includes some CCI Blazer, Ten X, Cor-Bon, and PMC Starfire ammunition. It handles them all with no problem.

Overall, I am extremely impressed with this gun. It isn't a tackdriver, but it is plenty accurate when I do my part, and since the follower switch, reliability has been perfect. The recoil of the gun is by no means outrageous, but it does have a bit more snap than a .45, but that is to be expected for a 10mm. The feel of the gun, its grip, and the layout of the controls is one of the best I have felt, and I handle a lot of guns.

All in all, I say get the gun. The customer service that I recieved from EAA was wonderful, and the gun has impressed me to no end. For aroud $300 or so, you just can't go wrong. The only question I have about these guns regards the long-term durability with full-power loads. For answers to that question, I defer to those with more expertise than I.

I hope this helps.

Gents,

I have a Witness in .45 that I have put 1005 rounds through since April. There is no sign of anything other than normal wear on some of the blued parts. Certainly no sign of any cracking or anything. Lockup is as tight as when new and it is even more accuate.

Granted that is a a .45 and not a 10mm. Also I replaced the stock 14lb spring with a 18lb unit off the bat. Tanfoglio uses the same 14lb spring for all calibers from 9mm to 10mm. Bad Idea in my opinion.

regards,
David

Ive only run 500 rounds through mine so far.
Once when inserting a mag I had to rerack the slide once but that was it.
I could only afford to run so many 13 and 1400 fPS corbons through it and they do kick more but it handled them great ( unless someones shooting a .357 everyone in range hears those and looks at you, hahah)
Mine was $340.00.
But my problem is find magazines for it.
I usually go through meggar but havent heard of them making 10mm for the witness.
Any thoughts besides the high priced factory made ones??
You do void your warranty apparently if you run +p rounds through it but I beleive the high end corbon counts as +p, so uh-oh.
Heck if you like that No one has yet complained about a glock 20.
To get .45 that fast youll have to order a
.45 super AND order the ammo and they only go up 1300 that I know of the 10mm factory loads reach 1400 in corbon and they may have others.10mm ammo is far mor readily available. You can also get a second slide for $220.00 and change it out to .45 or .38 super.
