Just added a Witness Match to my collection which includes, G29, G20, 1006, 1086, 610 and now the Witness...

This is a very, very nice piece I'm impressed so far -

After reading your list of 10mm autos I realized I too have six 10mm autos.

Bren Ten, S&W 1076, Colt Delta Elite, Glock 20, EAA Witness Match, and a Dan Wesson CBOB.

Got to get some pics of my Bren Ten and 1076.

O.K. So, how is the Witness - range report! Trigger, recoil, ergos, accuracy, etc... I have looked at them, just never seriously considered one.

Colt Delta Elite, check. Glock 29, check. Wore out a S&W back in the day, check. (Someone could have used it as a baby rattle I guess... wait, maybe someone is!)

How are those EAA 10mm's ? Hear the slides or frames crack after a few hundred rounds are they worth buying ? Should I just keep saving and buy a D.W. or Kimber . REALLY think I want a 10mm.

I am not certain, but I read somewhere that the current production of EAA Witness 10mm auto pistols is a different design than the ones which were reputed to crack. This new design is supposed to be larger and stronger than the old one.

Mine has about 800 rounds through it - no cracks. No problems. Works flawlessly and is very accurate.

Really nice guns and collections guys...

I've had several 10mm pistols in my 30 year history, including a early Glock (too large a grip for me), a Colt Delta, and a couple of early S&W 1006's, one with fixed and the other adjustable sights. As many of us have bought, sold, traded away our treasures, so did I, and am now left with the last 10mm I ever bought. It's a SA OMEGA, 6" ported polygonal barrel, adjustable target sights, and honestly I really like it.

I know there has been several reports of issues with the OMEGA, but from what I've experienced (my own and a friends OMEGA) and heard directly from SA was that they updated (last few production runs) OMEGA's had improved/upgraded recoil rods in the area that was prone to breakage. Also that had a lot to do with Norma full house loads and hot hand loads.

This OMEGA of mine below was shipped from SA in one of the last two shipments before they quit making them. It was a legal/patent issue between Peters Stahl and S/A that halted production. Supposedly mine (so I was told anyway) has all the bugs worked out that plagued earlier models/versions. It's been very reliable, durable, and more accurate than any out of the box and modified pistols I have ever owned. I do worry about the lack of parts should something happen, but I remain hopeful that it will continue to serve me well. Plus I have an excellent pistol smith friend!
