10mm and Longshot

So..........I recently went looking for some load data that I know I've seen before, but now I can't come up with it. Maybe someone could help me.

I am wanting to load 155gr Speer GDHP for 10mm Auto using Longshot. I seem to remember the starting load being around 10 grains. In the couple of manuals I've looked around in, there are no 155gr loads listed for Longshot.

I'm looking for a 1200-1300 fps load using the listed bullet and powder.

Cruising the interwebs, I'm seeing folks who are posting their load/chrono data for Longshot and 155XTP's, which I'm willing to use as a starting point, but I would like to hear some PUBLISHED numbers first.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Start around 9.5, that is a max for the 180gr and is a safe place to start and work up. Use caution and look for pressure signs.

You can resolve your issue if you bump your bullet to 180 grains as published on Hodgons' web site. The 180 grain will get you into the velocity range you are seeking. They list their test bullet as Sierra JHC. You can probably achieve your desired velocity with any hollow point bullet, but as usually, start in the basement and work your way in .1 increments.

Hodgons' also provides data for a 200 grain bullet but it doesn't meet your velocity requirement.

By the way, nice choice in powder. I use Longshot exclusively for each of my 9mm semi-auto pistols.

Be safe. Have fun.

I started at 9. Went in .1 grain increments to 9.5, where accuracy at 15 yards was stellar. Stopped there, loaded 10 more and got out the chrono.

Virgin Starline Brass
Win SPP
1.25 OAL
9.5 grains Longshot
Speer 155gr GDHP

Kimber Target II - 5" barrel

Shooting Chrony Master - Measured 6' from the muzzle

Avg Velocity for 10 shots was 1348

Extreme spread was 62 FPS

Pretty happy right there. Thanks folks.
