10 Round 1911 mag reliability?

Do any of you have any personal experience with 10 round 1911 magazines? If so, what magazine brand did you have a positive or negative experience with. I like the concept of high cap pistols, but do not like the 9mm caliber personally. I have been considering them for a while, but before I sink better than $20 a mag into something, I want to know if they work. Thanks.

I have 2pcs Power 10 mag Chip McCormick. I found it hard to push and get lock to the magwell. Unlike to my 8rdr that it is flawless to put in place. That is my experience with my Power 10 mag McCormick. I don't know to the other brand.

I have five Wilson 10 round mags that I used in IPSC competition. You must follow the instructions that come with these mags. If you don't load them to capacity and let them sit overnight when they are brand new, you will get jams. I used mine for two years, then springs started to get soft and the first round consistently failed to load. When these mags have good springs, they work.

wilson combat bureaucrat 10rds kinda expensive

I have a bunch of the Chip McCormick 10 rounds and they have worked almost flawlessly for >2000 rounds. If you have a magwell, you may need to sand down the plastic base plates to get them to seat properly. The Wilsona will work fine with a magwell, but for the cost savings, I don't mind modifying the McCormick base plates.

I have five McCormack 10 round powermags that I've had no problems with. But like other posters have said, you may have to modify the plastic base to fit your magwell.

Picked up a cheapie on impulse one day when in CTD retail store. Forgot the brand, but it soon went into the "I-shouldna-done-that" box ...

I have several Wilson mags that I use with my Colt Sistema, one of which is a 10-rounder. It's the only mag with which I have experienced a malf in 1500 rounds. I think I'll try the load-to-the-max-and-sit-overnight gambit and see if that is useful.

I have four Chip McCormick 10 round magazines. They are consistent and reliable enough for me to bet my life on. Without fail, they will consistently and reliably cause a FTF at least once per fully loaded magazine.

I also picked up an el cheapo 10(or maybe 11rd mag, not sure :) ) In 30rds, my Springfield jammed probably more than 15x. Once I took mag out, and replaced it with the Wilson and Kimber mags I usually use, everything was fine, and went on without a hitch.

If their 8rd mags are any indication, I'm sure the Wilson, Chip McCormick 10rd mags are of excellent quality.

Be safe

I bought a Wilson 10 rounder...

Bad news...nowhere near as reliable as my #47 7 rounders...jammed not alot, but way too much...would not trust my life to it...eventually the little welded on overinsertion tab broke off...my final opinion...a POS and not up to Wilson's normal level of quality...

Good news...Wilson has excellent customer service...absolutely the best in the business...at my request they replaced it with a #47 7 rounder...free of charge...
