Got a line on a NIB 10 MM EEA Witness. Can anyone provide me with feedback on the performance of this pistol. Im thinking about jumping on it but wanted to know how there holding up and how well they shoot. Thanks

Do a search of the arcives. There are a good number of members on these forums that have nothing but good things about them.

Good caliber, good gun. I am looking at getting one one of these days. The other good choices for 10mm seem to be the Glock 20, and a customized 1911 (certain modifications are necessary to handle 10mm).

Are you looking at the blued finish, or the "Wonderfinish"? What are they asking for it? I have a Witness .40 compact that I am very happy with.

If I remember, the EAA catalog says the polymer version is available in 10mm-has anyone seen one?

Brianidaho,

Even though it used to be in their catalog, I don't think EAA makes a polymer framed 10mm. I was very interested in getting one (I prefer the traditional double action to the Glock design), but when I contacted EAA, they said that it turned out that the polymer frame wasn't up to handling the 10mm. I'd still like to get a compact Witness 10mm in wonderfinish if they were approved here in California (but they aren't yet).

Big Mike, you got the link to SWAT. The finish is Blued. The asking price is $300. I did a search and came up with limited info.

I have a 10mm Witness full sized in Wonderfinish. Think I paid like $345. It`s a lot of gun for the money. Fit and finish are pretty good, trigger was a little creepy when new but it`s smoothed out nicely. If you plan to shoot any *real* 10mm loads you`ll want to get a Wolff 20# recoil spring. I run one in mine and it works with even the wimpiest stuff too. For straight hot loads I`d go with a 22#. With the 2 hottest loads made (Corbon 180gr.JHP and JSP) mine had problems with the slide locking back prematurely. The culprit was the slide stop spring. Under recoil the slide stop was bouncing up and engaging. I removed the spring, tweaked it a bit and reinstalled it and it`s been 100% ever since. FWIW only loads well into .41 Mag. territory did this at all. The gun`s great fun. Full house loads are as much fun as .44mag. from a Desert Eagle. It sends empties into low Earth orbit even with the 20# spring and the muzzle blast usually brings a few guys at the range over to ask "What the heck are you shootin over here that`s so loud?" :D It`s also great for clearing a little elbow room at indoor ranges. Fire a mag of hot stuff through it and suddenly everybody`s moving over a lane. :p Marcus

I agree with above. Search the archives.

Anyway great gun. Mine is one of the early ones and I still enjoy shooting it. It needs a heavier mag spring and I wish I could find adjustable sights I like, but it is my standard "truck" gun, so I trust it enough to bet my life on it.

Mine seems to like silvertips very much and is quite accurate with a really great trigger.

Welcome to the club of the 10mm's.

I've got one...

...and it's for sale.

I have a like new 10mm Witness fullsize in the Wonderfinish. I like the gun well enough, but I'm thinning the "not shot too much" portion of my handguns for money to increase the rifle section of the safe. I think that the gun feels great in the hand and shoots well, but when I grab a 10mm it's either a Glock or a 610. Anyone that's interested email me to discuss details and I'll take some pictures if you want. Sorry to post a for sale in this section, but I thought some of you might be interested.
