10/22 trigger

Does anyone know if Ruger has improved their trigger pull on their 10/22's since the passing of Bill Ruger?

There have many positive things happen with Ruger since his death.
 
I routinely do trigger work on these and although the internal components in the trigger housing, are changing, the OEM trigger pull is still fairly stiff. I have three trigger scales and most pulls are in excess of 6Lbs. That's pretty lousy, in my book. Now, the bull barrel target models are better, 3.0 lbs. or slightly higher. Have to admit that I have only worked on a few of these, target models and about the only internal change I see in these, is the hammer. ... :rolleyes:

As Pahoo said, factory triggers are pretty bad. A Power Custom drop-in trigger kit will turn it into a match trigger for about $50.
 
I popped a VQ target hammer into mine and the trigger pull dropped from 7lbs to 2 1/4lbs:D That was the best $34 I have ever spent on a rifle!
 
I just got a Deluxe last week. The hammer, auto bolt release and recoil buffer are the first things that I am going to change on it.

Today I bought a VX II 2-7x33 scope, off GB. I am either going to put it on my BP rifle or the 10/22.

+1 on the VQ hammer. I highly recommend it, and a nylon recoil buffer as well. The recoil buffer doesn't help with trigger pull, but it reduces that slap/smack noise when firing (and they're cheap to boot).
 
Ruger will never worry about improving the trigger pull on the 10/22. Give it up. Lawyers and good sales with the existing triggers being the main causes. If people would stop buying them then Ruger may change things but that ain't gonna happen and I could care less if they did. Why? Because they will never be, even with an honest attempt at improving, as good as you can get with a cheap aftermarket hammer.

If you believe Ruger might change things then Santa is a very real possibility for ya too.
