10/22 accuracy

which of the base model Rugers are the most accurate? my reliable gun shop i believe said the i believe target model with the Bull Barrel? cause if he does want to trade for the best Ruger i can get an i am going to ask for ammo too.

i think there is the sporter, carbine an target models. he also said the bull barrel is the better barrel to get out of Ruger.

Just depends on what you want to do with it. If you are going to plink and hunt I would get the regular 10/22 model. If you are going for accuracy and money is no object

it was going to be used for squirrel hunting. cause i can't get close enuf to em to pop em with the 12 gauge. my range here is maybe a close 50 yards an i don't trust my 12 gauge out farther then that. but if im not able to get the Target i take it the Sporter is the next best one to get?

we used to shoot wooden matches at 50 feet and bottle caps at 30 yds but never thought of measuring groups back in the day.

i just got told by one of the guys i go squirrel hunting with that i would be better off with one of the new Savage .22 LR? is he correct or should i get the Ruger? im wanting a accurate rifle that i don't have to dump alot of $$$ into.

i pulled up there line of .22 LRs an i like the SAVAGE MARK II-FVXP. anyone ever shot these?

My 10/22 carbine (std taper barrel) with a Volquartzen trigger and a cheap scope will shoot 1 inch groups at 50 yards with CCI Mini Mags. I would think that would be accurate enough for squirrel hunting.

other sights say that the Savage does .590 groupings at 100 yards. im not bashing the Ruger it was just what i read.

My 10/22 will do 1 1/2 groups at 90 yards with CCI Mini Mags or Stingers. Most any 22 will be accurate enough for squirrels at 50 yards.

Squirrels at 50 yards should be no issue for most any 10/22.

i am just trying to get the best .22 LR i can get for the Ruger Single Six if the gun shop descides to trade straight up.

The Target model already has the good trigger and is very accurate.

Die hard Savage guy here,but i have 2 10/22's. They are very very accurate.
My 13 yr old Daughter has no issues hitting the base of a shotgun shell at 50 yards with it. Like i say i Love Savage,but those 10/22's are more than good enough for anything they were intended to shoot.
