which of the base model Rugers are the most accurate? my reliable gun shop i believe said the i believe target model with the Bull Barrel? cause if he does want to trade for the best Ruger i can get an i am going to ask for ammo too.

it was going to be used for squirrel hunting. cause i can't get close enuf to em to pop em with the 12 gauge. my range here is maybe a close 50 yards an i don't trust my 12 gauge out farther then that. but if im not able to get the Target i take it the Sporter is the next best one to get?

i just got told by one of the guys i go squirrel hunting with that i would be better off with one of the new Savage .22 LR? is he correct or should i get the Ruger? im wanting a accurate rifle that i don't have to dump alot of $$$ into.

My 10/22 carbine (std taper barrel) with a Volquartzen trigger and a cheap scope will shoot 1 inch groups at 50 yards with CCI Mini Mags. I would think that would be accurate enough for squirrel hunting.

My 10/22 will do 1 1/2 groups at 90 yards with CCI Mini Mags or Stingers. Most any 22 will be accurate enough for squirrels at 50 yards.

Die hard Savage guy here, but i have 2 10/22's. They are very very accurate.
My 13 yr old Daughter has no issues hitting the base of a shotgun shell at 50 yards with it. Like i say i Love Savage, but those 10/22's are more than good enough for anything they were intended to shoot.
