Colt produce the 2nd Generation model 1862 Pocket Navy and Police and Baby Dragoon between 1979-1981 to as follows:
The Navy F1400 serial number range 48000-58850 (skipping odd numbers), the Police F1500 serial number range 49000-57300 (skipping even numbers) and Baby Dragoon F1760 serial number range 16000-17851 with a production quantities of about 5765 units for the Navy, about 4801 for the Police and 1852 for the Baby Dragoon.
Within this production serial number run Colt also produced a limited editions of 500 in a black lacquer painted walnut French fitted presentation box with bullet mold, pewter powder flask, percussion cap tin and combination tool. For those guns they assigned models F1401 for the Navy, F1501 for the Police and F1761 for the baby Dragoon.
It is known that there was over runs on the black lacquer presentation box left in the factory and that later, people “dropped” regular production guns into these overrun presentation cases to “manufacture” additional limited edition sets.
Now, here is my question:
Is there any way to find what are the actual serial numbers of those 500 limited editions cased sets for the 1862 Police, Navy and Baby Dragoon?

Yes and no. AFAIK, revolvers from the sets were taken from normal production and not a specific SN range. Colt's will lettter 2nd Gens, so you can request info on a specific serial number and the archives will indicate whethere it was from a 1 of 500 set or not.

I keep a sharp eye on Gunbroker, Auction Arms & Guns International. Most of my purchases have come from there. I have also gotten some items from Rock Island Auctions.

Thanks!

I am doing the same thing.........and I'll open my eyes for you.....I owe you one for the 1851 Cased Navies......
