0000 Buckshot

Other than putting your shoulder back out of place, I really don't think so. Not sure if it's being produced, haven't seen any.

0000 Buck and 4 Buck are completely different sizes.

0000 Buck is approx. .380"

4 Buck is approx. .240"

One is 4 Buck; the other is 4 "ought", or quadruple "ought", Buck .

27 pellets of 0000 buck would weigh 2,295gr (about 1/3rd of a pound), roughly four times heavier than a .50BMG projectile.

That's one heck of a HD round! What kind of velocity are you getting?:D

Once again, 4 Buck is not 0000 buck.

Size ..........Type .........weight ........diameter

#0000 ...... Buck ..........85 gr. .......0.380"
#000 .........Buck ..........70.0 gr........0.360"
#00 ...........Buck ..........53.8 gr. ......0.330"
#0 .............Buck ..........49 gr. ........0.320"
#1 .............Buck ..........40.5 gr. ......0.300"
#2 .............Buck ..........29.4 gr. ......0.270"
#3 .............Buck ..........23.4 gr. ......0.250"
#4 ............ Buck .........20.7 gr. ......0.240"

Tx...where did you get that chart? I could have sworn that #FF on down were considered "bird shot", and that "buckshot" started at #4 buck.

From another forum. And you're right...thanks (I corrected it). I wasn't paying attention and went too far down the chart  A chart which did, in fact, have some of the heavier steel shot labeled "buckshot". I have seen a few sources which refer to steel shot sizes like FF, F, TT, T, BBB, sometimes even down to BB and B as "buckshot", but that is not what they were designed for. These are primarily waterfowl loads.

For example, the guys below refer to some of the above as "buck" loads, but then go on to say they are for waterfowl, turkey, & varmints.

Ha, I just happened to see it on a wiki page and noticed I'd never seen it for sale anywhere or anything. So apparently it's not manufactured commercially. I would think if you needed anything more than 000, it probably wouldn't matter if you had 0000 anyways. Heh.

Im stunned on how many people mix up #4 shot and 0000 !!! I would certinaly buy 0000 if I could find it in a store (dont buy much online)

0000 buck is around and at between three and four pellets per round...

#F, #T, #TT and #BBB are considered buckshot or more commonly called transitional shot as in the old days bird was anything below .190 in diameter and sometimes buck was over .250 difference between European, Italian, British and American sizes...
