Hard Ball

Today, June 25th, 2000, is the 50th anniversary of the start of the Korean War.
Here's to those who served, Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. I cannot think of annything profound to say, but let's remember them, those who came back and those who didn't.

I went through ome of my old Army gear on the 25th and found my United Nations medal. I had almost forgotten that I was a United Nations Peacekeeper. They never issued me a blue helmet. That would crtainly have amused the Chinese snipers acros the way.

When I was in the Army, Inf., 1959-'61, my sgts were all combat vets who served in WWII and Korean. They were salty, to say the least. Also, some very fine intructors and leaders. I did my best to try and assimilate their knowledge as i knew that they had been in the thick of it and had good advice to those of us who had not.

Knowledge is power. J.B.
